THE DJ AT YOUR PARTY

THE DJ AT YOUR PARTY

DJ is fast becoming a trend, a way of living, a lifestyle! This change has gradually taken place over three to four decades. And, now we see DEEJAYING as a full or half time profession. The concept of DJ has constantly been emerging in almost every part of the world and is presently in its boom phase. Mobile DJs carry along their portable systems as they perform at different events, parties, weddings, receptions, anniversaries etc. In 1857, leon Scott Invented the first device, photoautotroph in 1929, the very firth device, Phonautograph, to record any sound, in France. 20 years later sir T. A. Edison invented the device to play back recorded sound, in U .S. Following the disc and cylinder rivalry, Edison ceased the manufacture of phonograph cylinder, 1929 It was in 1935, when an American commentator Walter winch ell coined the term disc jockey. In the late 1950s, a new form of public entertainment was developed, in the ghettos of Kingston Jamaica. Its promoter called themselvesDJs. They used to throw large parties which became profitable for them. They also sold food and alcohol, which lead to competition between various DJs for newest record and biggest sound system. Night clubs and discotheques grew continuously in the mid 1960, in Europe and United States. It was the time when specialized DJ equipment began to come in the market. The coming of 1977 saw the emergence Saratoga Spring, who introduced the disco beats, which published disco songs, which were listed by beats-per-minutes. The year 1981, saw the launching of television network MTV, which was totally devoted to popular rock music and videos. In 2000, besides tightly regulating the play lists, the coming of new and better technologies like voice tracking was seen. It allowed the single djs to send announcements across various stations simultaneously

The introduction of apple computers I pod, in the year 2001, which became the highest selling brand of portable digital mp3audio player. Its innovated and advanced features were penned as MP3ť. The year 2006 celebrated the 100 year anniversary of D J. As far as the qualifications of a d j is concered, it can always be divided into the technical and the inter personal aspects. A DJ needs to have sterling qualities like Adapt his persona to fit the event. Will consider every age group and play music accordingly. Coordinate effectively all aspects of an event. In sync with other DJ like videographers, photographers Have good sound and light system as well as backup Provide your reference and contact. In short, keep in mind a wedding DJ can make or break a party or reception or an anniversary. People do not remember if the food or the dcor was bad. But they do reminisce the music the d j played---good or bad .Thus, a DJ has more responsibility than just playing the records. Consider a few typical comments about a bad DJ. The DJ turned up late or didn't turn up at all Didn't play what I asked him to play Played exactly the music I asked him NOT to play Never introduced himself and his troupe The equipments were terrible --the music was hardly audible at the back of the room The DJ made my party a disaster On the other hand, it is also acknowledged that people cut corner on the musical aspect of the party. In such a case only a seasoned and thoughtful DJ can keep up the show on his own. And if you are one such DJ, you will certainly be called up for the next party and will actually be paid handsomely! Coming on to technical front you can easily tell a masterly DJ from a non experienced DJ. A proficient DJ will: Use DJ equipments like turntables, mixer and not his home stereo Will arrange before hand the acoustics in the hall etc Will play appropriate records and not just make announcements. Will have a massive music library of rap, rock, pop, jazz R &B Play according to need of the occasion and venueâ??s policies etc Needless to say there is no such written rule that a d j should meet all the above requirements. but if a few of such doâ??s and don'ts are kept in mind a DJ will definitely succeed in his endeavor. A DJ in himself is a one man show. A photographer might capture moments for the future but only a good entertainer can make those moments worth capturing.
